Using SEO Linking Tactics to Out-Distance your Competition

It comes down to… links are about search engine “trust”. So how do you know if a link will pass search engine “trust” to your site - and more importantly, HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY TO OUTDISTANCE YOUR COMPETITION?

1. Analyze the Pages the Website Links to: If the sites that a particular “link” page links to rank well in the search engines for their target terms then that is a sign of search engine trust. Also, look at the websites that link to this particular page/website. Are they well ranked? Do they have decent PR (PageRank)? Now your on you way to the big picture.
2. Plan your Links with the END in Mind: If you think a website is passing some great trust, get a few links to several of the websites you own (domains are cheap and content is plentiful). So what I’m saying is, create a couple of “hallway” websites with a small amount of really specific and great content - then get your links in “3s.” Once the page starts passing search engine trust to your sites, use a 301 redirect to your main website. If you actually take the time to create a few (let’s say 3) relevant sites (2 targeted/information sites for 2 separate relevant keywords and your main site - all in the same niche), you can actually have 3 separate incoming links with differing anchor text. If you determine that the link source hurts your website’s rankings, you can 301 redirect those link pages to one of your competitor’s sites. We’re not in grade school anymore and all’s fair in love an war!
3. Develop a Social Network Indexing Strategy: There are plenty of sites that the search engines LOVE to CRAWL! Once you have your links established on partner/directory/blog sites, get them posted in the social network. This will speed up the process of the search engines finding your incoming links, increase the authority of your incoming links thus, increasing the authority of your site. It is a “long-tailed” yet holisic approch - what separates the amatures from the experts.
4. Automate every aspect possible: If you have the rignt search engine optimization partner - one who has the expertise and the right tools, this can all be semi-automated on a MASS SCALE. Of course you need to work up to getting DIGGed and FURLed and SQUIDOO’d 50+ times a day. In fact, it is actually harder to lay the ground work than it is to automate on a grand scale. Look. The major corporation are working the insider track on virtually all of this without even knowing it. The trick is to learn how to do it on a smaller budget.
